A new comic book series launched earlier this year aims to engage children aged 8 to 12 in reading Scripture-based stories and illustrations. Titled Fear Not, the series is an initiative of the Canadian Bible Society (CBS), a partner of Wycliffe Canada that promotes and encourages engagement with the Bible.
The story centres on a boy named Samuel who encounters Jesus. He then sets out to bring a message of hope to lost people across the Land of the Desolate. Samuel is joined by other friends and characters to help deal with various fears and struggles shared by children.
“We have experienced a great response to the Fear Not comic book series from families this past Christmas at the time of launch,” says Rev. Dr. Rupen Das, CBS National Director. “This is an excellent Christian comic book series dealing with real issues children face and how they can overcome their fears with God’s help.”
